I sent the answer to Anastasia, and then understood that it is the same :)

Hmm... What thing: the pinhole or the non-existing railway terminal?

The pinhole. I mean, I know I saw it, but was it made by the camera manufacturer or another company?

It was the only railway in Chapel Hill according to Google. Looks like the terminal was in Carrboro, in a mile from the place.

This is a part of former Southern Railway

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Railway_%28U.S.%29

The map of 1921

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/47/1921_Southern_Railway_map.jpg

shows the branch with the station Chapel Hill (branched off the University station), but I do not see any station on Carrboro, so that presumably the name of the Carrboro station is actually Chapel Hill.

Probably, it is the same thing. There is a bar in former depot in Carrboro, NC (actually, part of Chapel Hill) http://www.thestationcarrboro.com/ and they do not say that the name of the station was Carrboro. It is situated on the crossing of the railway line and Main street. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=201-C+East+Main+Street+Carrboro,+North+Carolina+27510+&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=51.177128,114.169922&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=201+E+Main+St,+Carrboro,+North+Carolina+27510&ll=35.909856,-79.067209&spn=0.012896,0.027874&z=16
The picture shows the south-east dead end; the railway station Chapel Hill possibly was near the depot or on Greensboro street.
